What a WooCommerce Sticky Add to Cart Should Do

A practical guide to choosing, configuring and testing a WooCommerce sticky add-to-cart bar on supported product pages.

A sticky add-to-cart bar can keep the purchase action available after customers have moved past the original product form. It is most useful on product pages with enough detail, reviews or delivery information to make scrolling back to the purchase control inconvenient.

Start with the customer journey

Use a sticky bar to support—not replace—the original product form. The original form remains the place where customers choose required options and review the product before adding it to the basket.

Choose the right information

  • Keep the action clear and easy to recognise.
  • Show the title, price or image when they help customers confirm the product.
  • Remove repeated information when it makes the bar crowded, especially on mobile.

Test simple and variable products

For a simple product, test the original add-to-cart action after the bar appears. For a variable product, select a variation in the original product form first. A compatible sticky bar should reflect the selected price and image, or show Select options and return the customer to the original choices when a selection is missing.

Check layout and placement

Review the bar at desktop, tablet and mobile widths. Account for fixed headers, chat widgets and other overlays so the purchase action remains visible. Clear caches and retest after changing theme or optimisation settings.

Keep compatibility in view

Sticky Add to Cart is designed for classic WooCommerce simple and variable product forms. The beta block-based Add to Cart + Options form is not supported. For the plugin’s current settings and requirements, visit Sticky Add to Cart.
